THE POP EXPOSE – ‘OBI-WAN KENOBI THE SERIES’ Story by Mitchell Smith!

Hello everyone today I’m taking a look at the future, as Disney releases a date for the highly anticipated Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi series for May 25, a throwback to the original Star Wars release date. I will look back at the original Star Wars movie, which nearly did not get made and of course we would have no idea who Kenobi even is if that had happened. I watched the original on tv as I was too young to see it in theaters and we never had a VCR till the mid to late eighties.

Eventually that would all change as would the Star Wars franchise. The first movie was so great I still get goosebumps watching it. I have watched all 9 movies as well as the animated series The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Bad Batch in full. I have watched The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett in full. Along with that I have read the first and second trilogy books along with the 2013 book Kenobi that follows Old Ben when he first arrives on Tatooine.

There are also a number of comics which I have read very few of those. Bottom line there is a lot of material to draw from for this series. I know there is a lot of buzz going around about the incorporation of Mando into Boba but the end of the Mandalorian season set up for The Book of Boba Fett and likewise end of this season set up season 2 for The Mandalorian. I thought the series were both great and will go hand in hand down the road. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series will see some original actors from the prequel trilogy such as McGregor, Christianson, Edgerton, and Piesse.

I’m not sure if this will mesh with another series but there are a lot of characters that could be called upon to expand their stories. Just to name a few child Luke and Leia, Ponda Baba and Dr Evezan, Dengar, and that lovable space pirate Hondo Ohnaka. There is a chance we could get a taste of a young Boba Fett, a young Han Solo and of course Jabba the Hutt. This will be very Interesting and I wonder if they will hit on Yoda’s Dagobah landing and Kenobi reaching out to him and other lost Jedi through the force.

I think this is going to be an awesome series and I can’t wait for it to start. Who is excited for this series? Which others series are you watching in the Star Wars world? Which characters would you love to see in the Kenobi Series? I hope you all enjoy when it hits in May. Have a great week everyone.
